Description

1904 Estey reed organ recently restored. Organ was originally owned by the First Presbyterian Church of Ocean City, NJ, and used up until it was retired in the mid 1950's.
The old crazed and discolored shellac finish was carefully removed and a new shellac finish applied and hand rubbed to a semi-gloss luster.
The bellows, although very solid had cracks on all the seams. New vinyl impregnated fabric was laminated over the bellows cloth and then covered with a liquid rubber coating. New bellows straps installed.
All leather bellows exhausters were replaced with new leather. Reeds were removed and carefully cleaned just enough to remove dust. Felt that was worn was replaced. All linkages were lubricated for smooth movement and the keys were cleaned and polished.
The organ is now extremely playable and the newly refinished case is stunning.
This would make a perfect addition to any antique lovers collection.
The first pictures are of the organ as it looks now, later pictures are from the restoration.
