Very rare, desirable, stunning Erard Napoleon III 19th Century Grand Piano from Paris.
Signed on inner casing. All inlaid with Bois de Citrone Sycamore. Overlaid with gilt bronze. Raised on circular fluted tapering legs joined by stretchers, raised on casters.
Approx. 54”W x 39-1!2”H x 88”D.
Erard was one of the most illustrious and prestigious French piano manufacturers of all lime. Equivalent to Steinway in the U.S. but with a distinctive romantic sound.
Many prominent musicians including Haydn, Mendelssohn, Chopin and Beethoven owned Erard pianos.
This is a stunning grand piano, considered a Rich Art Cased piano designed by Erard of Paris.
It was manufactured in 1896, and was sold to the London Erard Gallery.
