Here is a wonderful, vintage large (14 5/8" high, base is 5.5" in diameter) metal bronze statue/figure of a Blackamoor bird seller! Very detailed, with very finely executed, crisp casting. This is from the 'Petites Choses' collection. Produced in the early 1960s and the piece is hand-painted, cold painted metal, and is mounted on a circular brass base. It features the chain rope detailing, and 5 wonderfully intricate birdcages -- each with 2 porcelain white dove or pigeons.
A very whimsical, lively piece with action and charming accents.
